At the 2019 Teaching, Learning, and Innovation Summer Institute, we built an escape room that highlighted our many teaching and learning concepts. As part of a more serious  university-wide conference, it was important to make this escape room a light-hearted conduit for the resources and tools featured. The overall concept was that participants were lab rats uncovering the clues left behind by a fellow rat that had escaped. The space allotted was a glass room which thematically allowed for observation by the team running the room (in a lab coat) and the passers-by who watched as people attempted the puzzles.
